Commemorating the bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the U.S. Mint has created a new Jefferson nickel. The coin features on the reverse a rendition of the peace medal Lewis and Clark gave to tribal chiefs and other dignitaries they met on their exploration. This beautiful 2004 nickel set contains a brilliant uncirculated nickel, 24 karat gold plated nickel, platinum plated nickel, colorized nickel, hologram nickel, and 24 karat gold plated hologram nickel. The Louisiana Purchase/Peace Medal nickel will only be minted in early 2004. Each coin is placed in a clear plastic sleeve with both sides visible and mounted in a handsome velour-lined case. Includes certificate of authenticity.
